Welcome to Funky Feathers Fancy Poultry Farm. Thanks for visiting our website.
If you are not familiar with us yet, we started out in 2001 with 2 ducks and 2 chickens. Since then we have expanded to approximately 24 birds. We have ducks and chickens only. We are located on a 14 acre farm on Maryland's Eastern Shore, 30 miles South of Cambridge, in a little town called Toddville (actually Bishops Head).
We are a family owned and operated farm, not a big commercial hatchery. Our farm is owned by Richard and Stephanie Kendall.
We are licensed through the state of MD. We are NPIP certified (#51-370) . This means our birds are free from Pullorum/Typhoid and AI We get them tested for A.I. (Bird Flu) every 90 days. I plan on showing our birds every year in the Fall . We showed some of our birds at the Delmarva Show on March 6th, 2010 at the Harrington, DE Fairgrounds. We got 3 1st place, 2 BV and 1 RV and 3 2nd place out of 6 birds entered. We did pretty well at the MD Poultry Fanciers Show in Frederick on 11/5/11 as well.
We are members of the Delmarva Poultry Fanciers' Club, MD State Poultry Fanciers, Cochins International,The APA and the ABA.
We pride ourselves in keeping our birds healthy and happy. I spend 3 hours each day feeding, watering, and cleaning out my pens. We treat all our birds like pets, and give them treats every few days. Everyone who has visited our farm has said we have the cleanest poultry pens they have ever seen.
Here is our list of the breeds we offer:
Ducks- Butterscotch Calls.
Chickens- Bantam Mille Fleur Cochins and Bantam Splash Cochins. If it is not listed here we do not have it. NOTE: We no longer have any Silkies.
We sell most of our birds & all of our eggs online at online poultry auctions, Ovabid.com, Backyardchickens.com/forum, and a new site called Featherauction.com. Our ovabid username is "rusty57", my BYC name is "fattie", and I will be using my old Eggbid name "Birdy42" for Featherauction.com. Look for our auctions, we ship eggs & birds anywhere in the US. We ship our birds USPS Express Mail, and our eggs USPS Priority Mail. Eggs usually arrive in 2 days. I pack the eggs very carefully, each egg wrapped individually in bubble wrap, and floated in shredded newspaper which I cut & shred myself. I have been told by my customers that I am the best egg packer around. Although the post offices can be very rough on the eggs, tossing and kicking the boxes around. I have complained about this to no avail. Therefore, once the eggs leave my hands your hatch rate is out of my control. I do guarantee fresh, safely packed eggs. I always send extras if available for fast payment (Instant PayPal), sometimes LOTS of extras! :) We also sell locally, and welcome you to our farm. Just email or call and let us know when you can come. We do not sell eggs outside the auctions, period. Birds we do.
Every bird we have is pictured here. Thanks for your interest in our birds.
